Victoria Community Update: Winter Term 2021
Dear Victoria students, staff and faculty,
Earlier today, Professor Meric Gertler, President, University of Toronto and Professor Melanie Woodin, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science, announced changes to the start date and mode of delivery of Winter term classes.
We are writing to draw your attention to these statements which can be found on the University of Toronto UTogether site and the Faculty of Arts & Science News page.
Victoria University in the University of Toronto will be officially closed as of December 23 and will reopen on January 4 as originally planned. Also, Victoria residence buildings will reopen on January 3 as planned, enabling students to return to campus after the winter break and before the start of classes.
Victoria College Students
The start date of classes and their delivery method is determined by Faculty of Arts & Science. The Faculty has indicated that classes will resume on January 11. The end of term will remain April 30, 2021. February Reading Week will also remain as planned from February 15 to 19, 2021. The Faculty has also indicated that any remaining, dual-delivery Arts & Science undergraduate courses will shift to fully online delivery for the Winter term.
Emmanuel College Students
Emmanuel College classes will continue to be delivered online for the Winter semester and will begin on begin on January 11. Reading week will continue as planned from February 15 to 19, 2021. The Winter semester will be not be shortened. All academic deadlines for the semester will be delayed by one week. All end of year processes and convocations will also be delayed by one week.
